Our website, "Venus", allows users to take a style quiz which then sorts the consumer into one of our five general style categories. Once sorted into a style group we then provide the consumer with five or more recommended brands that we believe will help them find their desired attire efficiently.

People often struggle with finding an article of clothing in their personal style.

Our group built a fashion website to help people find a style that matches their personality. We created a short quiz that users can take at the beginning that matches them with one of five style categories. Within each of the style categories, there are recommended websites for the user to shop at. If the user wants a more specific search, they can search for their desired attire in the custom search bar at the bottom of the page, which would direct them to a more specific page.

We wanted the user to be able to search the recommended websites and then have them displayed side by side so the consumer could easily view the differences between the companies. We soon learned it wasn’t possible because of new security restrictions by various web browsers. In order to overcome such an obstacle, we searched for other options and came up with custom Google searches. The custom Google search allows the user to search for something while we limited the search results to the websites we wanted.

We are high school students who recently learned how to code and want to impact the lives of those around us. We were a part of the 2018 Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program at Goldman Sachs.
