Sleep with ease but don’t miss your stop

Anita C., Flor M., Adriana M., and Jasmine B.

This website was created to help people get off at their bus stop. Many things can happen on the bus: you can get distracted, fall asleep, or not know where, or when, to get off. This website will alert you that your stop has arrived, one stop before you get off. You can get ready and won’t miss it. We created Transit Alert to be accessible on your phone's web browser on any device.

The risk of falling asleep on the bus, or missing your stop.

We are addressing it by creating a notification system which will alert the user before the user's stop.

We faced many technical problems during our project. One of the major problems was the code not working properly. The map code didn’t always work so we asked for assistance from one of the instructors and we also sought out advisable instructions from the web.

Jasmine loves coding and computer science, along with astronomy, music, and Doctor Who. She hopes to someday change the world for the better by helping the environment and people. She believes in equal education opportunity for all people. Anita possesses a strong interest in computer science and technology in general. She plans to possibly major in a field of engineering. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, surfing the web, and learning. Adriana is interested in computer science and its related fields. She believe that there are many ways to use technology to make the world a better place, and believes that the world is full of opportunity, you just have to go get it. Thanks to Girls Who Code, she knows that she wants to enter a technological field. Flor has learned how to engineer programs which will help people through Girls Who Code.

This project was made by Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program students at Verizon Chicago.
