Our website is an HTML, CSS and Python based website that provides its users with links and resources who can help those around the world. It features a text-adventure game targeted towards the youth to help them experiment with new cultures. We hope our website can supply people with the tools they need to bring awareness to current events and help the world become a better place.

Our website was designed to bring awareness to current events throughout the world. We are trying to address problems all around the world by informing and educating those willing to help and learn about more about the world. By enabling users to join the task force our website can help in the fight to end world suffering.

Our project targets problems in specific places in the world by creating webpages dedicated to each location. We created a more immersive experience by including a user input game that will put the user in the shoes of the people facing problems around the globe.

We faced multiple technical problems while creating our game. A major setback occurred when we tried to implement our python game into our HTML website. After trying to convert the python to HTML readable language we decided to use a separate platform to connect to two altogether. We ended up using PythonAnywhere to run our python code and connected it to our website through easy to find links.

Our group

Layla Brown is a 16 year old student who lives in Morgan Park and attends Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School. She enjoys art and writing, She is now considering a job in not only art and writing but now computer science. I worked CSS, HTML, and Python during the course of this project.

Manal Rizwan is a 17 year old student who attends Lane Tech College Prep High School in Chicago. She has had minimal experience with computer science and now likes it after attending the Summer Immersion Program at Girls Who Code. In the project she worked with HTML and CSS to design webpages as well as Python to help create the text-adventure game.

Grace Smiguel is a 15 year old who goes to Jones College Prep High School in Chicago. She enjoys coding and has had previous experience with Girls Who Code programs. During the course of this project she worked with HTML and CSS to create web pages as well as Python to create our user input based game. Another aspect I helped implement was the Google Maps API key.

Saloni Sahni is a 16 year old who goes to Neuqua Valley High School in Naperville. When she’s not coding with python or HTML, she can be seen watching Korean dramas debating political issues, listening to music, or playing classical violin and piano. For the project, she designed some of the HTML webpages with CSS and JS, and she used python to create the text adventure games with Grace.
