A role-playing game created on python using pygame.

You are an 18-year-old girl who wakes up in a forest filled with strange creatures. In order to escape you must complete the tasks given to you. If you make a wrong choice, you must start again. Your purpose is to discover why you are trapped in the forest.

We wanted to raise awareness for depression, and other mental illnesses, that are often invisible to society.

The main character of our game suffers from depression and feels isolated from society. As the game progresses, hints are given to her to help her discover her purpose in life.

We created this game using an extension of python, pygame. We only knew basic python. To make us more acquainted with pygame, we did a lot of research and experimenting.

"The emotional aspect of the game keeps me very interested and I'm drawn to playing the game again and again. I love how the game creates awareness about a very important social and mental health problem" (Chockalingam, 2017).

We are a group of high school students who have never coded before. As part of our Girls Who Code Final Project, we decided to create a role playing game. We decided to do this because we love playing games and thought it would be fun and interesting to do. Fun Fact: we can all tie our shoes!

This project was made by Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program students at GE (Bay Area).
