Be educated on issues that matter.

Hashtag movements are quickly rising to spread awareness about political and social topics, but as they become more popular, it is harder to remember the core meanings behind the movements. Hashtag movements solve problems of ignorance, but people still have to be active in making change.

Generally, people want to know what is happening around the world, but it can be difficult to keep up with how fast important trending subjects rise and get forgotten on social media.

The name of our project, "SocieTea", might make one think of gossip and drama. But, in reality, it is a website designed to raise awareness on movements and major issues that are occurring in America and all over the world (e.g. #Marchforourlives, #NoChildLabor). Many of these said movements don’t have enough light shed upon them, so we wanted to educate people on what these issues are, how they impact humans worldwide, and how the user can help out.

As the new generation is growing up in a world of many crises, we want to be a part of changing it. The first step to doing that is by clearing the clouds of ignorance.

We ran into challenges in combining the codes that we worked on separately. We had to work a lot on making each of our HTML files consistent.

Also, linking the files was difficult. But, when we worked together, we were able to find a solution.

"We are SocieTea."

We are a group of high school students who believe in the importance of keeping up with what is going around the world.
