Psych-To-Go

Psych-to-go is a web based app that advocates for mental health awareness and positive coping methods.

Our website as a whole consists of three branches: the introductory page, user dashboard, and forum. The introductory page provides background on some of the mental issues that could come up in discussion as well as resources for extra support. We break down our mission and give our users some positive encouragement. Once a user logs in, he or she can see a personal record of activity on the site in terms of positive and negative comments. From the dashboard, one can join the community Psych-to-go fosters in its cheering and commiserating forums.

We saw a lack of mental support and empathy towards teens learning to cope with life’s internal struggles.

We’ve created a web app that is part educational and part interactive, giving teens a chance to help each other piece apart common issues and support each other through common successes.

We struggled to create a back-end database for our users and forums, but settled on a Meteor template that helped guide what we needed for our minimum viable product.
