Polar bears are at risk of becoming extinct. This mama bear needs to collect all her cubs before that happens.

The project is a game in which a mother polar bear jumps on platforms. She collects cubs along the way. As she progresses through the game she has less platforms to jump on to. This is a reference to the depleting polar ice.

Polar bears have a very high risk of being extinct due to global warming. As the Earth gets warmer, ice habitats for multiple animal species start to melt. This results in a decline in animal populations, including polar bears.

We are addressing this issue by raising awareness through a 2-D platformer game, mainly targeted towards children.

One major obstacle was coding the foundation of the game. None of us had the experience with Pygame, the library we used to code the game, but we overcame this problem by following starter code we found from an instructor at Simpson College.

"It's our Earth. Our problem. Save the polar bears."
