A place where everyone matters!

The project "NEVERMORE." is an informational website for teens who are, or were, in an abusive relationship. Through this website, teens are able to seek a helping hand as well as find people that they can talk to as a means of not feeling alone. In the end, we hope that all teens are able to voice their own opinions to the world.

The problem we are trying to address is that all people who have been abused before, or are being abused now, can go on our platform and feel safe and not alone. We also hope that through "NEVERMORE." we are able to provide a place were each and every person can voice their own opinion and finally be heard.

In order to address the problem, we created this website in which teens can go and find resources or support groups that they can attend, as well as show teens that although they feel as if they are alone with no one or no place to voice their opinions, this website just comes to show that no one is alone in this world and that there are people that they can talk to who want to support them.

One major technical difficulty that we had was that while creating our Resources page, the backgrounds that we added to the text would show up either too big, too small, or at times it wouldn’t show up at all.

We eventually overcame this problem by inspecting our code to make sure we didn’t close parts of it, and because we didn’t close the code, the program would skip over it because it seemed like we were going to add on to that code.

Other then that, most of our other technical difficulties had to do with design and the overall look of the website with the CSS code behind it.

"This website will have a great impact on society as well as allow for many people to come and speak out to make their voice loud and known."

We are a group of four girls from Miami, Florida with the curiosity and determination to learn to code.

Hi! I’m Clarissa, and I am a junior in high school. I have had the pleasure to work with these amazing sisters to create this website.

My name is Erika, I am a junior in high school. Through this program, not only did I work with an amazing group of girls to make this great and important website, but I also met some great people that not only did I learn to code with, but I also was able to be part of an amazing sisterhood with.

Hi! I’m Madelaine, and I am a senior in high school. When starting this program I thought that I wasn’t going to like coding, but as the days progressed I found it fun. My favorite part of this whole program was creating friendships with these amazing group of girls.

My name is Gabriela, and I am a senior in high school. Girls Who Code opened my eyes to the world of Computer Science. I now am considering pursuing it as a career and am very proud of the work my peers and I have done thus far.

This project was made by Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program students at Knight - FIU.
