Stop Bullying. Stand Up, Speak Out.

Shristi S, Catherine L, Sarah L,

Letstand is a place where both parents and students alike can share their questions, concerns, or personal stories and get support from the rest of the community. You can also contact your school administrator/counselor to privately or anonymously to tell them about the problems you are facing at school. We hope to be able to help you prevent bullying at your school!

Bullying plagues almost every school in the United States yet there are very few people that actually stand up against it. Students don’t have a way to get support and sometimes they don’t want to talk to an adult because they don’t feel comfortable.

We created a platform that allows students and parents alike to post their stories, questions, and concerns to get support from the rest of the community so that they can stop bullying at their school.
By using the forums on the website, victims, bullies, and bystanders can get support and guidance on how to stand up and stop bullying. They can even (anonymously) contact their school counselors or administrators to inform them of the challenges that they are facing at school so that the adult can do something about the situation.

Most of us had no programming experience when we started this project, and it was very hard for us to figure out how we were going to build it. So, we decided to do a little research on the best practices of web development. After some discussions, we figured out what programming languages would be the most effective to implement our ideas, and then, we dove right in learning them.

At the beginning of this club year, we were all complete strangers. Now, through Girls Who Code and our project, we have become lifelong friends. We had so much fun learning and collaborating with each other and our unique, crazy ideas!
