A JAR full of the Bay Area's best locations!

Jenny W, Rida L, Allison S

Our group designed JAR, a Bay Area based social media platform, where users are able to find various locations and contribute to the JAR community by uploading and saving images. Users create their profile and are then given access to the "feed" of an image grid showcasing various photo, food, and tourist locations in the Bay Area. Users can save these images in their "favorites" for future reference.

People are not culturally aware about the diverse environment that surrounds them, otherwise known as the Bay Area. Our team personally faces this problem when we plan events with friends and family and are unaware of local locations.

We made a social media inspired web page that presents a wide array of photo, food, and tourist locations in the Bay Area. It builds upon the Bay Area community since people can add locations, as well as upload and edit images.

Technical problems we faced included integrating code from multiple team members, formatting with CSS, and building user based functionalities with JSON and Python. Thankfully, we were able to overcome these with the help of our instructors.

"Your project is very aesthetically pleasing in navigating and using. I can totally imagine a group of photographers or travelers using your website."
