Green Upstream — A Solution to Polution

Green Upstream — A Solution to Polution

Promote environmental awareness in a game setting!

Nayha A, Rachel M

We've created a "drag and drop" game where players have to sort through waste items that are floating across a virtual river. The point is for people to learn what items go in which bin. That way, their knowledge from the game can be taken into the real world in order to better the environment we are all surrounded by.

Environmental awareness is an issue throughout the world. In 2012 in the United States, compost and recycling only made up about 35% of total waste items.

We have created an interactive game to give players knowledge on the correct sorting of waste items.

Creating the "drag and drop" technology took days to complete and required large amounts of editing to perfect it.

"Sorting trash has never been so fun!" -- Lunden
"Through the challenges, I learned how important it is to know what goes in which bin. Green upstream for life!" -- Emma

Our names are Rachel and Nayha and we strive to spread environmental awareness through as many mediums as possible, including discussion, websites, and games.
