To promote and encourage discussion on topics not usually seen on news.

We want to promote and encourage discussion about issues that don’t normally receive media coverage to our peers. We hope to make people more aware of the world around them. We wish to encourage the readers to start discussion in their communities.

The problem that we are trying to solve is the lack of conversation about current events and things that the news and social media doesn’t always cover.

We are making this website that allows people to have these types of conversations and place you in groups using the programming languages that we will use are HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and Bootstrap and photo editors such as PhotoShop.

A technical problem we faced was working together to push things into github seamlessly. Also, linking bootstrap and jquery was confusing at first but by experimenting with the position of our code, we figured it out.

"Really nice intriguing website with good design!" - Sophie Wu

Hi my name is Tenzin. Over the course of the 7 week at the Girls Who Code Adobe NYC Summer Immersion Program, I was able to learn a lot of things that I would never have been able to learn at school. I have been so inspired to learn more about Computer Science because of this program.

Hi, my name is Nicole Garcia and I’m currently a rising junior. Thanks to Girls Who Code, I’ve realized that I have a passion for computer science. Coding is super cool and the possibilities are endless. I really enjoyed doing this project since I’m leaning more towards front-end design in the future.

Hi my name is Maxeen. I’m currently 17 years old and in high school. I’m going to be a senior in September.  I usually love math, except trigonometry, and computers, but this was this was my first time ever trying to code. This program was a new experience for a lead me not only to continue in learning computer science, but also trying new things.

My name is Ese Bowry and I’m currently a rising junior. My aspiration is to become a biomedical engineer and create my own medical devices in children’s hospitals. I enjoy coding and have been given the chance to learn to code with 19 other girls at Adobe. I have a passion for STEM, sports, music, theater, literature, and volunteer.

This project was made by Girls Who Code Summer Immersion Program students at Adobe (NYC).
