Find fun, photogenic food for friends!

Anna H, Christina L, Anokhi M, Hana S

An interactive website that allows you to find trendy and photogenic eateries in whichever Bay Area location the user wishes.

It has been a rising trend for young adults to meet up to eat and post about it on social media. Twitter threads of food hotspots and Instagram food accounts have huge followings. However, finding good places to try still require extensive research beforehand across multiple platforms such as Instagram, Twitter, Yelp, and Facebook.

At Bay Eats, we have compiled data from various sources to make finding highly rated food and drink places easy to access.

Implementing the Google Maps API was one of the most difficult parts of this project since it was unfamiliar code. We overcame it by working through the Google Map Developers tutorials and the help of our TAs and teacher.

"I think you guys did a superb job on this project and I feel this project is something that people our age would definitely use." - Elise Xu

We are a group of four girls from the Bay Area who noticed the rising trend for young adults to meet up to eat and post aesthetic pictures of food on social media. With our product, Bay Eats, we have compiled data from various sources to make finding highly rated food and drink places easy to access. We first started the program with little to no experience in coding, but after 7 weeks of this program, we were able to create this project completely from scratch and we had an incredible amount of fun while coding it.
